Happy New Year!
Finally, the web site is up! It has been an exciting and active year so far. Your children are working hard and we are about to ramp it up! Please except a more rigorous schedule and more homework in the new year. I will be expecting all students to read one half hour each night in addition to their regular homework. Daily Raz Kids will count for this also. We will also have a book report a month due at the end of each month.
So far homework looks like this:
Monday: Write spelling words 4 times each in ABC order and complete the word study on each. Read for
30 minutes. (Spelling words will be increasing in difficulty)
Tuesday: Write words in ABC order and each in a sentence. Read for 30 minutes.
Wednesday: Write words 4 times each in rainbow writing or cursive. Read 30 minutes.
Thursday: Write words 4 times each. Take a practice spelling test. Do Raz Kids and pass a test or read
your AR book.
Extra work can always be done if you want to challenge your child at home. Summaries can be written on reading material. Computers can be used at home to increase skills. I suggest IXL, Howtotype.com, Funtotype.com, vocabulary.co.il, and multiplication.com.
Science projects, research , and collaboration are done mostly at school. Occasionally, I will send home an assignment for Science. All changes will be noted in your child's agenda which is filled out daily.
